NEET 2019: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility for NEET 2019 is set to remain the same as it was under CBSE NEET 2018. This includes the upper age limit as introduced by MCI. Please note, as per 2018 information bulletin, the upper age limit of 25 years which would be counted as on the date of the examination. That is, candidates who are 25 years or less as on May 6, 2019 would be eligible to apply for NEET 2019. Lower age limit for NEET 2019 is 17 year.
As for educational qualification, students who have passed (or would be appearing) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology, as well as English, are eligible to apply for the examination. A minimum 50 percent marks are also required in the qualifying examination.
Eligibility of students from open schools is expected to be under question as no direct verdict is available on the same. Whether or not MCI would permit NTA to allow open school candidates to appear for NEET 2019 continues to be under query at present.

NEET 2019: No changes in the paper pattern, syllabus
NEET 2019, like previous years, would be conducted only in pen and paper format and in all the regional languages it was conducted by CBSE in. This includes English, Hindi, Urdu and 8 regional languages - Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Oriya and Kannada.
Candidates to please note that the regional languages would only be available in the regional examination centres. The option of choosing between English, Hindi and Urdu, however, would be available across the country.
One-Time Exemption to NEET ‘Unqualified’ as well as ‘Non-Appeared’ Candidates to Pursue MBBS Abroad-Delhi High court
The High Court while hearing a petition allowed one-time exemption to all medical students who wish to study MBBS Overseas.
The high court has asked the MCI to issue (EC) eligibility certificate to these students within a week. The court observed, “This court hereby declares that the petitioners are entitled to the same treatment as was given to those who did not appear in NEET; as a one- time measure, the respondents are directed to ensure that eligibility certificates are issued to all students who appeared in NEET (including the petitioners) but did not qualify the test.”
In February, 2018 the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had approved the proposal of the MCI to make it mandatory to clear NEET to obtain an eligibility certificate (EC) to pursue courses in overseas medical Universities. This was considered as a major drawback for various medical aspirants.
Nevertheless, students who did not register or qualify for NEET this year, the Delhi High Court had recently announced a one-time exemption for such medical students. Now, the medical aspirants can follow their dream to become a doctor without any worry.
This is a welcome step to ensure uniformity and equity towards the medical aspirants. This is the last golden opportunity for all medical aspirants to seek admissions in foreign medical universities of their choices at affordable costs. The admission process is closing and it is recommended that the students choose organizations with experience and single window clearance rather than running from pillar to post in search of best bargains which may not materialize. The students and parents are also cautioned not to become victims of fraud because of time shortage.

Few Words on the Key Members of Trinity SOM
Dr W Douglas Skelton, MD serves as the Chancellor of Trinity SOM. Dr Skelton, Following graduation from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and a psychiatric residency at Columbia in New York, Dr. Skelton returned to Emory where he was a full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry.
During his Emory years he served as Chief of Psychiatry at Grady Hospital and then as Medical Director of the Georgia Mental Health Institute. From 1974 to 1980 he served Georgia as Director of Mental Health under Governor Jimmy Carter and as Commissioner of Health and Human Services for Governor George Busbee. He then returned to Emory as Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. He later assumed additional duties at Emory as Vice President for Government Relations of the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center. He served as a member of the National Advisory Mental Health Council during the Carter Administration.
Dr. Skelton served as Dean of the Mercer University School of Medicine from 1985 to 2002 and as Senior Vice President and Provost for Health Affairs from 2002 to 2004.
